Biography

As the founder and CEO of TEZ JONES Training Solutions (TJTS), Montez consults, trains and educates, leaders, managers, employees, and non-profits on the benefits of leadership, effective communication, and better interpersonal relationships. He is an Executive Director with the John C. Maxwell Team and a certified speaker, teacher, trainer, and coach. He is also an independent ‘True Colors’ and a DISC consultant who conducts workshops on Keys to Personal Success, stress management, resiliency, marriage/singles, and teambuilding to name a few. He has a diverse portfolio of clients. He has facilitated workshops for Congressman Benny Thompson’s Leadership Team, the Mayor, City of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Air Force Global Strike Command’s Equal Opportunity Conference, U.S. Army’s Southern Regional Medical Command executive leadership cadre, Air Force Medical Operations Agency leadership, The Potter’s House of Dallas Marriage and Singles Departments, Arlington ISD and Brock Elementary School administrative staff and teachers. Moreover, Montez has also facilitated John C. Maxwell Leadership training workshops throughout Joint Base San Antonio and Afghanistan. For his work, Montez was named as one of the top 100 leaders by the John C. Maxwell Team in 2014.

Montez Jones’ myriad of education, travels, and life experience give him an exceptional understanding of varied personalities, leadership styles, teambuilding, and communications types. That background is coupled with his formal education. As a life-long learner, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from Mount Olive College in Mount Olive, North Carolina, and Associates Degrees in Instructor of Military Science and Technology and Social Services from the Community College of the Air Force. Additionally, Montez completed his Master’s in Business Administration in 2016 while simultaneously excelling as a career Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer. He is a certified DA EEO Counselor and a graduate of the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI), Academic Instructor School, and is a certified Mediator along with being a Certified Diversity Professional. Lastly, he maintains an enrollment in the John C. Maxwell University while being mentored by the John C. Maxwell team and John C. Maxwell himself.

Montez retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of honorable service. As an active duty military member where he held a variety of different positions that contribute to his ongoing success. He also held a position for the Fort Worth Army Corps of Engineers as an EEO Counselor and Special Emphasis Program Manager. This helped to groom him to be a dynamic speaker and bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the table. His talents include extensive
leadership in Diversity Management, Equal Employment Opportunity and Equal Opportunity, Teambuilding, Organizational Development, as well as Strategic Planning. Montez delivers interactive training workshops to a variety of organizations and personnel. He also provides leadership coaching and facilitation for seasoned and newer leaders and managers. Montez offers practical solutions to real life issues and challenges. Lastly, Montez has coordinated African American Heritage Knowledge Bowls in Montana, North Carolina, Texas, and Kentucky.
